WEEKLY REPORT – NOVEMBER 18, 2005
Anthony Jaciel Arias Aguilar (1 year old from Honduras) –
Thankfully, Anthony was cleared to return home on Monday and, thanks
to Linda and Warren from Eileen Gentilcore’s Syosset-Woodbury RC, we
got the family on the plane by 6:00 Tuesday morning. We were rushing
with the flight because, if they couldn’t leave on Tuesday, there
were no other flights in his class till January! So, thanks Eileen
for enabling them to leave.
Kazandra Lopez Chavez (8 years old from Ecuador) – Kazandra
looks great and, as usual, is winning everyone’s heart! She has
another checkup next week and then, probably, cleared to go home!
She and her mother have had a steady stream of visitors, including
John Capri and the family of Rachel Glassman. Kazandra is Rachel’s
Save A Child. Add to them Joe and Mary Ann Iaboni, from the Jamaica
host club, Silvia Star and her friends from the Hispanic American
Women’s Club and even Luigi D’Onofrio, and you have an idea of the
appeal of this child.
Thank you all for hosting and visiting!
Have a Wonderful Thanksgiving and please remember all our friends in
your Thanksgiving prayers!
WEEKLY REPORT – NOVEMBER 11, 2005
Christhian Joel Avila Ramos ( 7 years old
from Honduras) – Christhian and his mother returned home real
early on Wednesday and, as usual, Luigi D’Onofrio from the
Westbury/Carle Place Club, put in an enormous amount of time with this
family. Thanks Luigi, we know we can always count on you.
Anthony Jaciel Arias Aguilar (1 year old
from Honduras) – Anthony still has a little fluid problem and
has to wait a little longer before going home. Eileen Gentilcore and
her Interact Club are always in attendance with this family – doing
whatever is needed. Thanks!
Kazandra Lopez Chavez (8 years old from
Ecuador) – Unfortunately, Kazandra’s fluid problem is more
serious and she is still in the hospital. Had to be moved back to ICU
last week. Hopefully, she will be out of the hospital and with our
friends at the Ronald McDonald House shortly. Joe Iaboni (Jamaica
RC) and his wife Mary Ann are constant visitors.
We cannot say enough good things about Silvia
Star and her friends from the Hispanic American Women’s Club. They
have had their hands full lately!
Due to the bombings in Jordan, there might be a
delay in bringing the children from Iraq to Montefiore. We are in
touch with our friends there and the feelings of shock, etc. are the
same as ours after our “9/11”! Their Rotary Club met in one of the
hotels that was bombed. Let’s hope that the people there will be able
to pull off a miracle and enable the visa and airline ticket process
to go forward. Please keep Marikay and our military friends in your
prayers.
Prayers for Jeanne and all our children!
